Golden Compass Trucking School offers Class A CDL and Class A CDL refresher courses.
Our classroom and office is located at 17 W 10th St., Anniston, AL 36201 and our driving range/training yard is located at 1008 Glenaddie Ave, Anniston, AL 36201.
The cost of tuition varies by the program and also depend on an individual's qualifications for any financial assistance. GC Trucking School staff will work with students to determine their eligibility for tuition assistance or scholarships. But, we are always offering discounts for new students.. Our Class A program length is 4 weeks for full-time training. Our students are important to us and we realize that learning new information can be overwhelming. We believe 4 weeks is ample time for our students to grasp the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in the trucking industry without feeling rushed. We also offer night classes over the span of 6 weeks from March to October.
GC Trucking School offers job placement services to help students find positions with the nation's top trucking companies. Recruiters may visit from different trucking carriers to answer any questions that students may have about their companies.
We typically start a new class of students once a month, but this can vary based on demand. We also prioritize flexibility and try to work with students to accommodate their schedules.
Yes. As of February 7, 2022, new federal mandates require anyone obtaining an entry level CDL to attend an accredited trucking school to receive theory and behind-the-wheel training. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is required to verify that training has been completed before you are allowed to move forward in the process.
Because new truck drivers often start their careers as over-the-road (OTR) drivers , new OTR drivers can make anywhere between $40,000-$50,000 per year. More experienced drivers often earn over $70,000 per year, however, this can vary significantly depending on factors such as the company you work for, location, mileage pay, and/or per diem.
Tuition reimbursement is a payment option where trucking companies offer to pay back their employees' trucking school expenses in exchange for remaining employed by the company for a certain amount of time. Reimbursement is often paid out on a monthly basis, so our goal is to work with as many trucking companies that offer tuition reimbursement as possible.
